JTM Engineering & Development designs and manufactures custom robotic cells (automation cells) for industrial automation systems. We offer full-service design, manufacturing, and integration services to clients who need robotic cell enclosures or robotic workstation tables integrated into new or existing production processes. Since 1959, our highly experienced engineering team has specialized in helping facilities turn their manual production processes into automated production processes, optimize existing robotic cells, and design new robotic cells for short-run production processes. We are based in Wisconsin and service nationally.
All robotic cells (aka robotic work cells and automation cells) are custom-designed and custom-manufactured for each customer. We do not offer pre-engineered robotic cells or standard robotic cell configurations. This allows us to build one-of-a-kind robotic cells that integrate perfectly into unique, industry-specific automation systems.

Robotic cells provide a turnkey base platform for a large variation of manufacturing and automation processes. Robotic cells are built complete with a robotic workstation, framing structures and safety guarding, and PLC controls. They are built with custom-configured drilled holes to mount industrial robot arms, robot bases, multi-robot mounting plates, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), and more custom automation equipment. Common applications include pick-and-place robots, robotic assembly lines, CNC machining robots (for press shearing, punching, bending, drilling, grinding, and assembling parts), and more.
Our engineers can design small-scale robotic cells sized 6 to 8 feet wide and 32 to 48 inches deep. Every robotic cell that we built has been fully customized from conception to execution; we do not offer standard sizes or configurations due to the extreme variation of projects. Our experienced team uses your specs sheet to design a custom robotic cell that is tailor-made to solve your automation needs.
